Buying Mississippi Land
Thinking of buying land?
Ask yourself the following questions before you make the purchase:
- Am I looking for recreational property, an investment, or both? If both, which has higher priority?
- How well does the property meet my objectives or criteria?
- Have I looked at comparable properties?
- Is the price suitable for my intended use?
- Does the property have broad appeal and can it be easily resold?
- Do I know about the soils, site potential, previous management, and current or potential income of the property?
- Can I rely on the timber valuation provided by the seller?
- Will adjoining landowners or their property management negatively impact my investment or enjoyment?
- Is the property encumbered with easements that impact the value?
- How much of the property is limited in use due to topography, soils, government regulations, or other factors?
- Can this property qualify for government or other programs that add value, tax benefits, or income?
